Eric Bogosian
Biography
Eric Bogosian (born on April 24, 1953) is an American actor, playwright, monologist, and novelist.
An Armenian American, Bogosian was born in Woburn, Massachusetts. After graduating from Oberlin College, he moved to New York City to pursue a career in theatre.
As a performer, Bogosian has a very distinctive style. His one-man shows are a minimalist blend of dark comedy, geopolitical commentary, and social realism. When performing on stage, Bogosian generally appears as a series of characters, and uses only a microphone and a folding chair as props.
Bogosian has recently joined the cast of Law & Order: Criminal Intent as Captain Daniel Ross,
replacing Jamey Sheridan's character, Captain James Deakins.
Some of his plays have recently been revived on and off-Broadway, with an updated version of his 1994 play SubUrbia at Second Stage Theatre and the Broadway premiere of his Pulitzer Prize-nominated 1987 drama Talk Radio, starring Liev Schreiber, scheduled to open in March 2007.
