AuthorName: Jean-Baptiste Moliere
In this monologue, Orgon explains to Cleante that he doesn't know Tartuffe at all. He says that Tartuffe is a good and spiritual man. He recounts his first meeting with Tartuffe and how after he had given Tartuffe a donation, he watched Tartuffe turn around and give that same donation to someone poorer than he. Orgon goes on to say that Tartuffe tells him when someone is eying his wife and feels guilty even when he kills a flea.
